Helping Business Owners Build Something That Works.
Running a business doesn’t come with a manual. There’s no cheat sheet for managing cash flow, hiring staff, pricing your work, or putting out daily fires. You’re expected to figure it out as you go, and somehow make it profitable, sustainable, and worth the effort.
That’s where Tegus comes in.

More About Us
Why I Started Tegus
I’m James, a CPA, business consultant, and former partner at one of Australia’s top-ranked accounting firms. I spent more than a decade working with real businesses, helping owners simplify the chaos, get clear on their numbers, and build something they actually enjoy running.
Most business owners are great at what they do. But no one teaches you how to run a business. What I loved most was the conversations behind the numbers. Finding clarity. Solving problems. Helping clients take control.
I started Tegus to provide the kind of support business owners actually need. Real advice. Clear thinking. A fresh perspective that leads to real results.
The Tegus Approach
I work with business owners who are ready to take the next step. That could mean growing your team, tightening up your operations, or building a business that can run without you being in it every day.
There’s no template. Every business is different. We set clear goals, build simple systems, and have honest conversations to help you move forward with confidence.
If you’re ready to step back, scale up, or finally get control of your business, I’d love to help.
About James

Most business owners don’t need more theory. They need someone who gets it.
I’m James, CPA, business consultant, and founder of Tegus. I’ve spent the last decade inside the engine rooms of real businesses, helping owners simplify the chaos, get clarity around their numbers, and build something they actually enjoy running.
I studied Business and Commerce at Monash University, majoring in Accounting and Management. After earning my CPA and Public Practice License, I became a partner at one of Australia’s top-ranked accounting firms (as recognised by the Australian Business Review). But for me, the best part was never the tax returns. It was the conversations.
I loved hearing what business owners were chasing and what was keeping them up at night. I loved celebrating the wins. Watching things click. Seeing clients back in control, with space to think bigger (or take a break without everything falling apart). That’s the work that matters.
And that’s why I started Tegus.
Because running a business doesn’t come with a manual. And being “the boss” doesn’t mean you should magically know how to do everything, from pricing to cash flow to managing a team. It’s okay not to have all the answers. That’s what I’m here for.
Tegus exists to help you build a business that works for you. One that’s profitable, systemised, and scalable without you needing to be everywhere, every second, holding it together with duct tape and hope. Whether you want to grow, simplify, or just feel like you’re back in control again, I can help.
Because at the end of the day, business should give you more freedom, not more stress.
If that’s what you’re looking for, get in touch. I’d love to help.
